Answers to your questions

I believe in a compassionate and transparent approach to therapeutic support. Here, you'll find answers to important questions about fees, processes, and what to expect.

Frequently asked questions

What are your fees?

Fees for funded and self-funded clients are $150 per session, and $190 for NDIS clients.

Sessions are 50-60 minutes for adults, and 40-45 minutes for children.

Do you accept NDIS clients?

Yes, Sanar Counselling is able to work with clients who are self-managed or plan-managed under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Please let me know during your initial contact if you plan to use NDIS funding.

Do you accept mental health plans?

Not currently, but I am working towards accreditation to service clients with mental health plans.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies greatly depending on individual needs and therapeutic goals. I'll discuss this with you during your first session and regularly review your progress. Some clients find resolution in one to three sessions (a single session approach), while others benefit from longer-term support. My approach is always tailored to you.

I've never had counseling before, what happens?

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll discuss what brings you to counseling, what you hope to achieve, and how I can best support you. It's a safe space for you to ask questions and understand the process. There's no pressure, just an open conversation.

What's the easiest way for someone to get started with you, and what can they expect during that first step?

Reach out and I will ask a few questions about your circumstances to determine if I'm the right fit for you. Then you will be invited to book a session.

Professionals who are wishing to refer can contact me via email and I will then make contact with the client.

How can I prepare for my first session?

There's no special preparation needed. Simply come as you are. If you wish, you can think about what you hope to gain from counseling or any questions you might have. My primary focus is to create a comfortable and supportive environment for you.

Is what I say in therapy confidential?

Confidentiality is a cornerstone of ethical practice. What you share in your sessions is kept private, with a few legal exceptions such as situations where there's a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if mandated by law. I will discuss the full confidentiality policy with you during your first session.

Do you accept clients who are funded by other services?

There are certainly circumstances where services may fund client sessions.

Clients may access sessions via the Victorian Victims of Crime Financial Assistance Scheme if they have applied and been granted financial assistance.

I am currently seeking approval with the NSW Victims Support Scheme.
